How to complete our forms
Didn’t complete your Free Check application?
In the event you show interest but do not complete the application, we’ll contact you to complete your application.
What if I don’t know my account number?
Your Free check pack will ask you to provide the policy or account numbers for the financial agreements on which you are checking for PPI. If you do not have these account numbers on file then we can obtain them on your behalf using something known as a Subject Access Request (SAR) or using our pre-submission process with the banks.
Obtaining information through an SAR will incur a charge of £10.00 – although we will not pass this cost on to you.
Before getting us to request these details via an SAR, these are the places you can find your account number:
- Bank statements from the relevant time frame
- Late payment notices relating to the agreements
- Online banking records (where applicable)
- Credit agreements for the products in question
You can also speak to your bank directly to obtain the information. Banks must keep details of their agreements on file for 6 years and you are entitled to access it under the Data Protection Act 1986. Phoning your local branch could therefore give you access to the data you need.
